We are experts at Air Conditioning Installation. Consider us when it’s time to replace your air conditioner. If your system has had to be recharged multiple times and refrigerant costs are too pricey, a new A/C system will keep you from throwing money down the drain. If your system has been charged with refrigerant more than once, the system must be replaced. Likely, the SEER efficiency rating on your current air conditioner is outdated if it has not been replaced in the past 10-20 years. A new A/C system will improve your energy usage as it will be up to date with current government SEER ratings. We will recommend whether or not to replace the A/C pad, electrical whip or disconnect in addition to the outdoor unit itself before starting the new Air Conditioning Installation.
When the homeowner is ready to move forward with a new A/C Installation, we typically install the same sized (tonnage) unit unless the old system is under or oversized for the house. In the case of resizing the new A/C and evaporator coil, the ductwork/electrical capability of the current system would have to be checked to properly support the new A/C system. We will make sure the current air filtration system will allow for longevity of the new equipment before completing your Air Conditioning Installation.
Residential air conditioners are split cooling systems meaning there is an outdoor and indoor component that is necessary to keep your home cool. Depending on the refrigerant in your current system, at least one, if not both, will have to be changed when completing a new Air Conditioning Installation. The copper line-set running between the outdoor and indoor units can be reused if it’s still in good condition and is flushed during the install.
Previous to 2023, the mandatory standard efficiency rating for air conditioners was 13 SEER. The new mandatory efficiency is 14 SEER for all new A/C Installation.
Maintenance for a new air conditioner requires the homeowner to spray off the outdoor condenser coils at least once a year with a garden hose (NOT pressure washer) and keep a clean air filter at the indoor unit.
